Rattlesnake bites

Rattlesnakes are out in force ​during the warm months in Grant County. Most important, when a dog gets bit by a rattlesnake, is to keep them from running, load them up into a comfortably cool vehicle, and seek veterinary help. Antivenin and intravenous fluid therapy can provide life-saving support to a dog with a rattlesnake bite. We offer the rattlesnake vaccine, ​and it can only help diminish the severity of a dog's reaction to a rattlesnake bite. Vaccinated dogs still need veterinary care if they are bitten.
