John Day River Veterinary Center LLC has provided full-service veterinary care to Grant County since 1980. We offer veterinary services to large and small animals, either in our office or at your ranch or residence. We are available 24/7, ready to respond to emergencies at any time. The health of your pets and livestock, as well as your satisfaction with our service, are our priorities. We offer full-spectrum small and large animal wellness, medical, surgical, and dental care. We offer radiographic, ultrasound, and endoscopic imaging, as well as laser therapy. Our in-house laboratory allows us to provide you with same-day results for many diagnostic tests. John Day River Veterinary Center LLC is located at 59989 Highway 26, halfway between John Day and Mount Vernon, Oregon, on Highway 26. 

From the south, come north on Highway 395 to the stoplight in downtown John Day. Turn left at the light on Highway 26 and travel west from John Day. We are 4 miles west of the stoplight downtown, on the right (north) side of the road. 

From the north, come south on Highway 395 toward Mount Vernon. Turn left at the stop sign in Mount Vernon and travel east from Mount Vernon. We are 4 miles east of the stop sign, on the left (north) side of the road.

Colleen Robertson DVM

Veterinarian
Colleen enjoys every aspect of practice at John Day River Veterinary Center. She grew up in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, on her family’s farm. Colleen attended veterinary school at the University of California at Davis. Completing her doctorate of veterinary medicine (DVM) in 1998, she stayed on to complete a Masters of Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM) focused on population health and epidemiology in 1999.

Jandy Torland DVM

Veterinarian
Dr. Jandy Torland is excited to be back in Grant County after being gone for veterinary school at Oregon State University. She loves working with all animals, but has a special interest in equine medicine and lameness. When she is not working she loves to horseback ride, hunt, fish and do almost anything outdoors.
